Music Usage Permission for soundtrack
We wanted a soundtrack which wasn't too intrusive over the interviews, one with no lyrics and something which was subtle and calm which would suit the documentary. After listening to a few different tracks, we heard 'Turn and Turn Again' by Bailey Tzuke. The beginning had such a beautiful beat and it wasn't too over the top. We used the beginning of the song, only repeating the instrument and no lyrics. W asked the artist Bailey Tzuke for her permission to use it in our documentary by email which is shown below...

Voice Over Script for Young Drivers Documentary
When we were writing out our voice over script, we took into consideration where each interview and film shots were. We decided to put information on young male drivers after James Cooper’s interview to emphasise the point we were trying to make that young male drivers should be safer on the road.
We also watched our edited documentary to make sure we were adding the suitable information where appropriate.
We also wanted to emphasise it’s not always the young drivers fault, giving the other side, we introduced Lucine.

First part of making my Magazine Advert
I started with editing the photo of Lucine's Car I took and making this as the large background. I then researched Channel Four Advertisements and the Style they use for people to identify their work. I paid attention carfully to how they postion their 4 logo and how they present Titles and tag lines, as well as where they inform the audience the date or time of the programme.
So I then create my own Channel Four title, but I couldn't find the font channel Four use anywhere therefore, I had to Print Screen this image which showed letters and punctuation in their font style, and I had to cut, copy and paste each letter to make up 'Young Drivers.' I then put a dark blue boxed background exactly how Channel Four presents titles. To do the 4 Logo, I copied the logo off the internet and and editing on Word taking the back ground off so when I layered the Four on the image it looks part of the picture.
This is my first edit of my rough but I still have yet to put on the date and time of the documentary or 'Coming Soon,' put a statement under the title and quotes from Newspapers and celbrities.

Update on Filming and Editing
Filming and Editing James Cooper
We've recently filmed James cooper who will be the first person interviewed in our documentary once we have finished the editing. We told him what our documentary is about and what we have recently been filming and asked a few questions about his accident to get started.
We set the room up how we did with Lucine, so he sat in front of a white board with a bright light shining on him. He talked about his accident for around seven minutes with a few cuts between, where we asked a few questions.
After we had filmed this, we downloaded the flim onto the Mac Laptop into Final Cut Pro, a recent purchase to edit our documentary. We watched through the whole interview and every time we did this we would constantly split the clips up and take parts out which we didn't need or were sort of irrelevant. We kept watching over and cutting out film several times because our aim was to get James Coopers interview under three minutes. We edited James' interview quite a lot as we had to cut out nearly five minutes off, therefore, the diting pace is rather quick so we've fitted transitions inbetween cuts to create a smooth movement.
We finally cut the interview down to around two minutes and the footage is perfect. We have also taken a cut out and used it at the beginning of the Documentary to introduce what will come on later, almost like a flash of transitions of dramatic speech in the beginning.
We have created the beginning using Dawn the Police Officer, James Cooper, Lucine Sandiford, a young victim and we have yet to come some filming of cars driving in the dark and a point of view shot from inside a car to add to the beginning. We have used several transitions to create a fast paced move at the beginning and we have also have a very subtle sound track in the background playing as the people we interview talk.
