'Love Over Time'
This is a documentary we created using past skills we have learnt.
The documentary is an expository documentary based on young couples talking
about their relationships and how their relationships have developed. The
narration in this documentary is heavily used throughout as I interview the
couples to encourage the couples to explain their story. The documentary has a
very casual feeling to it which should make to audience feel more attached as
it comes across as realistic and humorous.
We did this short documentary as an experiment and a
foundation to work on. We used basic editing skills such as slow motion, slow
transitions and a soft effect on the screen at the beginning to almost
emphasise the affection and romance between the couples, as well as filming a
two shot of the couples throughout to capture their body language together. Obviously,
this documentary is very basic and we did this to branch more ideas on how we
could develop our ideas on editing and camera angles. There is a lot to work on
in this documentary, such as there is no music throughout or backing track
which would have set a romantic scene and the continuity of speech through the
transitions could be worked on more.
